F1 Fragrance Social Teaser
In 2019, my team at Designer Parfums had the fantastic opportunity to license and develop a new fragrance collection for Formula 1. The concept began with the F1 team and evolved through a collaborative effort with Designer Parfums, encompassing everything from the fragrance’s scent profile to the design of its packaging.
My involvement began slightly later after the bottle’s design and overall aesthetic had been established. I was responsible for the social and digital marketing content, as well as providing support for the point-of-sale (POS) artwork.
F1 is synonymous with excitement and luxury, and we maintained this tone throughout the campaign. The concept for the social teaser was to give only a brief glimpse of what the new fragrance would be like emphasizing its unique concept and structure. I included brief flashes of each of the five products in the series, with an overlay of smoke to represent the intensity of F1 races. The flashing effects were intended to evoke the sparks generated by the mechanics when a car stops for repairs during a race. Additionally, I incorporated glitch effects in the text to align with the campaign video, ensuring visual consistency throughout the promotional materials.
This approach effectively conveyed the excitement and luxury associated with Formula 1 while creating anticipation for the upcoming fragrance launch.
The Website
For the fragrance collection, our design team collaborated with the development team to build the website. My role was to create Web banners and animated GIFs that illustrated the process of extracting the fragrance. These animations were intended to be placed alongside the accompanying text to enhance the user experience and provide a visual representation of the fragrance production process.
Web Banners
Upon launching the product, Designer Parfums established an exclusive agreement with The Perfume Shop, giving them the sole rights to sell the first collection. My role entailed following The Perfume Shop’s web design guidelines while incorporating our campaign assets to emphasize the product’s exclusive status and its distinctive 3D-printed case.
Print Projects
For this project, I contributed by creating various artworks to meet the team’s high demand for project-related materials. These included designs for Free Standing Units (FSUs) and other Point of Sale (POS) elements to support the launch of the collection. Additionally, press events were scheduled at Formula 1 events to promote upcoming releases. I developed gift cards, posters, and FSUs for the UK market, as well as, for Russia, where the language and messaging were tailored to suit the local demographic.
